FW190 A-8, MW50 Tank section 1:32

Description:

An MW-50 tank is a storage container for a 50:50 mixture of methanol and water that was used to boost the performance of supercharged aircraft engines, particularly in the German Luftwaffe during World War II. This mixture, known as MW-50, was injected into the engine's supercharger to improve combustion and provide more power.

Blend ratio:

50% methanol, 49.5% water and 0.5% protective oil.
Function:
The evaporation of the water and the combustion of the methanol reduces the combustion temperature and increases the performance of the engine.

Field of application:

Particularly for aircraft such as the Fw 190 A-8,D-9 and the Bf 109, where an increase in performance was to be achieved by the supercharger.

  • The section is currently in 1:32 scale. Other scales are possible!
  • Simple and compact construction without complicated components
  • The section can be inserted into the fuselage as a whole
